Tony witnessed firsthand the market crashes of 2002 and most recently 2008 and the devastation it caused to many. (There were flagship mutual funds and blue-chip companies that lost over half their value in 2008 and 2009.) Many retired investors who were required to take distributions found their accounts diminishing with less money to work with if and when the market recovered.

 

After witnessing his own grandmother's conservative account fall in value, Tony realized there had to be a better way to ensure the safety and income most stock and mutual funds could not provide. Tony canceled his securities license and began focusing exclusively on guaranteed lifetime income annuities. Almost everybody lost something from 2008 to 2009; and even those had their money in "safe accounts such as CDs and fixed annuities" probably lost somewhere else whether it be real estate depreciation, inflation, lower values on their 401(k)s, personal IRAs, etc.

 

With many taking a hit on the money they had worked for several years to save, it was time to focus on guarantees and safety.
